Photoshop Exercise

We where set a task to create a meaning out of two unrelated images taken from the internet, it could be humorous or political. 

So I chose a character who is known for stating various negative views towards the LGBT+ community, Vladimir Putin. The current president of the Russian Federation has prohibited gay marriage, which has influenced homophobia in all of the country, allowing these ideas to be "okay". People are openly aggresive to gay people and there have been multiple lethal assaults. 

I decided to create this image as a political statement, I can openly say that this man is a horrible influence for people who listen to him, and take part of his homophobic harrasment. The LGBT`+ community should not tolerate this, people are marching all over the world but we never hear anything from the russian community because they are severely silenced, even murdered. We should not let this happen, and this is my way of doing it. 

I chose this portrait beacuse you can see him from a very dominant and intimidating perspective, even evil some could say. 

Putin's Tailor

I used photoshop to add the Rainbow Flag to his tie. To get the flag on the tie I selected the pen tool to  created anchor points around the tie so that i could create a selection with only the tie. I used an overlay and decreased the opacity to make the layer with the tie visible with the flag. I am pleased with the outcome, I think it gets the message across and I hope it can bring attention back to this very important problem that is happening right now.
