Canon XF305 Induction

We have been told that we will be creating a short documentary for the course and it should be shot with the Canon XF305, so we have been inducted in how to use it and all the equipment that comes with it.

These are some of my notes on the basics of how to adjust the settings and what everythings means. As I have mentioned before, Im more of a physical note taker.

Later on they let us use the cameras and experiment with them. We where set on groups and told to take some shots with the telephoto lens, so we did and I found that it is realy difficult to operate on your own, so you need a crew. I also found that it takes time to use the telephoto lens because you have to use the tripod otherwise you will get very shaky footage and its not great.

Danielle taking some great shots

Much concentration

Finally we where taught on how to be a boom operator and how sound should be recorded. It is very tiring I must say, but when its done right it is very satisfying. We experimented with the equipment, moving the boom around, to see what the ideal distance was and how the sound changes if the boom is in diferent places.
