How to take portraits

So, we have been inducted on several photography related stuff, like how to use the Nikon D5000, how to make a camera obscura, how to analize photographs and basically more things like that related to how to take a photograph. I have had a lot of fun with it, and I have learnt to do some cool stuff that I didn't know - I guess there is always room for improvement and learning more.

I am not used to blogging and all of that jazz, because I personally prefer writting down stuff so it sticks to my brain, so why not have both? Here are some of my notes on these induction sessions and some of my thoughts. (I know they dont make much sense, but they do in my head)

So these are my notes on the induction on how to use DSLRs and how to balance all of the settings to take a great photo.

This are some of the questions I should ask myself while analysing photographs and how to process the information they give me in them. I will use these questions later on, while analysing artists for my portrait photography project, I think.

We have also been inducted on how to use lighting equipment in the studios. I was really excited about this bit of induction because lighting is one of the key elements while taking a photograph. I find it very pleasing to see a well lit picture, but I dont know, you might want to choose a certain type of lighting to fit a meaning or an aesthetic you want to achieve.
